I have a track record of resolving complicated, emotionally-charged, challenging, high-stakes disputes in the Puget Sound area and beyond. My 43-year career as a trial attorney for both Plaintiffs and Defendants included the following types of complex litigation:

Catastrophic injury, wrongful death, quadriplegia, paraplegia, amputation, anoxic and traumatic brain injury, child abuse, serious personal injury, product liability, pharmaceutical and medical device, food borne illness, class actions, and mass tort cases

Professional Liability:

Medical malpractice, legal malpractice, insurance and real estate broker malpractice, and directors & officers liability

Commercial Litigation:

Class action, breach of contract, UCC – Sales, Consumer Protection Act, financial services liability, insurance, wage and hour and employment cases

My Mediation and Trial Experience Includes:

  • Serving as a Mediator since 2018.
  • Involved in hundreds of mediations on behalf of both Plaintiffs and Defendants
  • Represented and Settled over 100 cases for Plaintiffs, the largest being a $5,000,000 settlement against the State of Washington and 9 settlements for over $1,000,000
  • Tried five cases representing Plaintiffs in which the amount at issue exceeded $1,000,000, the largest being a request for a verdict up to $26,000,000
  • Represented and Settled over 500 cases for Defendants
  • Tried nine cases representing Defendants in which the amount at issue exceeded $1,000,000, the largest being a claim for $75,000,000
  • Specialized training in mediation at Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution
  • Served as Faculty Member for International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy at Stanford Law School
  • Chaired the Class Action and Multi-Party Litigation Committee of the International Association of Defense Counsel
